Picking a plan

Take a moment to consider affordability

In the health insurance world, each insurance plan will change in price depending on your health status over the year. Even so, you want a plan you can afford. Look at the monthly premium and annual deductible — Are you comfortable making these payments over the next year?

If the answer is "no," you may want to pick a plan that with different coinsurance benefits or a limited network HMO to reduce costs. Remember, you must buy insurance — it's the law! — and investing in health insurance will ultimately save you money. Don't skimp on coverage unless it is completely out of your budget.
